Frequently Asked Questions
|
The first thing you need to know is that everybody's riding style is
different. Water conditions are different. Water temperatures are
different. All of these things can and will effect the way a Hydrofoil
rides and reacts. We have tried to put together a general description of
each Hydrofoil available and it's particular riding characteristics. This
should help you make a more informed decision when it comes time to purchase
your first Hydrofoil. We still recommend that you attend a Fly-In and ride
different Hydrofoils to see what fits your needs and ability.

There are a couple ways to meet other riders. One is to join one of the
chat groups
Hydrofoil or
Chairchatters. The other is via this cool map link setup by Bill at Airjunky.com.

A Fly-In is nothing more than a group of people getting together that share
the same extreme passion for the sport of Hydrofoiling. Along with the passion
comes a lot of new friends that are more than willing to help you learn the
sport and improve you riding ability. It is sanctioned by the United
States Water Ski Association and the United States Hydrofoil Association.
It is classified as a Class "F" Tournament or Fun Tournament. It is the
best place to learn new tricks, learn how to ride or try different Hydrofoils.
There are Fly-Ins located all across the U.S. and several other Countries.
Check the Events page to find the one nearest to you.
